Gus - Faces of Brazil

   Another neighborhood friend of Johnathan's is eight-year-old Gus.  Though a few years older than Johnathan, they have a great time together!  Here's a picture of him in the middle of a game of "Connect-Four" with Johnathan in our back yard.

Paulo Victor - Faces of Brazil

   At eleven years old, Paulo Victor is one of our neighbors and one of our best friends here in our neighborhood!  He has been extremely helpful to us - always ready to assist in the littlest, or biggest, way possible!  Our kids really enjoy him and he enjoys making them laugh!  Even though he loves to have fun, he's always respectful toward us and our children!  We are so thankful to have many good friends here in Brazil!

Mahalia and Sarah - Faces of Brazil

   The other day I was scheduled to do a photoshoot for a couple twin 1-yr-old boys who have never had their picture taken with anything more than a cell phone, but unfortunately they had to cancel at the last minute.

   However, right at the scheduled time, a different neighbor family dropped in to visit us and so I got to do an impromptu photo shoot for them, just for the fun of it!  Their two daughters are really good friends with our kids and love to play together in our back yard.  Here's a picture of their 8-yr-old with Mahalia.

Diane - Faces of Brazil

       We enjoyed getting to talk to Diane again at Family Camp this year.  Her sweet, quiet spirit made it a joy to be around her.  

Maria Eduarda - Faces of Brazil

  This little girl was a faithful visitor of this year's Vacation Bible School here in Brazil and seemed to greatly enjoy herself the entire week!
  The VBS had a Global Mission's theme and so on the last day there were prizes for people who dressed up as being from another country.  I would say this girl definitely deserved first place!

Little Girl's Sunny Portrait

     As I had my son at the park with some of our church friends' kids, I got to take a short series of pictures of this little girl.  It was full sun and windy, but we had a great time!

I Heart Daydreaming!

     This week the theme at "i ♥ faces" is "People's Choice" meaning that we get to choose our favorite photo to enter.  I liked this one of this young girl.  You may remember her, as I posted another photo of her a while back which you can see here.

Sunset Portraits

     Tonight I took my son out to do some sunset portraits!

     We started about half an hour before sunset, but it got dark fast!

     He is quite a goof ball and doesn't need too much coaching for his poses.  The hardest part is getting him to stay in one spot long enough to take a few photos.  I'd take a few photos and then the moment I'd step over to adjust a flash, or change a setting on my camera, he'd be gone!

If you're interested in the Strobist information, here was my setup:
    All manual settings - ISO 800, F 5.6 - 8, 1/80 - 125
    Yongnuo 560 Speedlight - high and to the camera's left - Full Power shot through an Umbrella with a 1/2 CTO gel.  Fired optically by the other flash.
    Cobra 240 Speedlight - On camera Right, even with my son - 1/2 power, full CTO Gel, triggered by Youngnuo RF602 radio triggers.

Watching the Big Game

    Our family has always enjoyed curling up on the couch to watch a good football game together.  There's just nothing more relaxing on a Sunday afternoon, than to drift off to a little nap while watching the game.   This time, our daughter got the game to herself, and I must say that she looks quite relaxed!

   We sure hate to see the end of the football season!  (Hopefully, our teams will do better next year!)

       My home church just had their Vacation Bible School!  I was able to get some time to take photos during the activity time!  The kids had a great time and I loved capturing all the excitement on their faces!
